We are a group of Swedish citizens (of Palestinian, Swedish and Arab origin) who believe in the just Alquds and Palestine cause and in the Palestinians right to live in freedom and dignity and in their right to return to their homeland. We are a non-profit, non-governmental group, carrying out several activities that aim to contribute to the cultural and social development. We are proud and appreciate our generous country and our great people's stands in service of Palestine and in aiding its people. We are proud of the joint history and the strong links between the Swedish and Palestinian peoples. To coronate the huge amount of popular activities that support Alquds as Capital of Culture 2009 and the Palestine cause in the Swedish arena, the establishment of an institution to serve Alquds and the Palestinian question became a necessity for large sectors of the Swedish people represented in civil societies and official parties and authorities of various political, intellectual and cultural trends. We will publish articles and translates works that cast light upon the socio-political situation as well as files, reports and periodicals about current events of Alquds Capital of Culture 2009. Within different periods, we undertake various enlightening and informative conferences, seminars and similar organizations on socio-economic and strategic structure for concerned and distinguished people. Our Al-Quds group is progressing to be a centre of Alquds information, documentation and activities regarding Alquds Capital of Culture 2009 with local (Stockholm) Sweden. Our Al-Quds group, from 14 mars, the date it was founded till now, try to organized large countrywide symposiums and reflected the opinions expressed by the intellectuals and scholars in these important gatherings to the public opinion. Here are the titles of these symposiums: Our Alquds group will organize these grand symposiums under 2009: 1. Fundamental Rights and Freedoms in a Democratic State of Law, 2. Freedom of Religion and Conscience in a Democratic State of Law, 3. Where is Alquds and Palestine Heading with regards to its Economy, Society, Politics, Culture and Education,We are representatives, intellectuals and politicians of the Swedish country such as the members of the parliament, and the ¬leaders of the associations participated at all of these symposiums. In order to make these positive effects permanent, it published articles that copied all the discussions made during each symposium and served them to the public use.We, also, declared and announced its opinions and recommendations to the public opinion regarding the important issues which were on the agenda of the country through its bulletins, its internet web site and by making tens of press statements under April 2009.
